Both Sir Alex Ferguson and Pep Guardiola will go down in the Premier League history books as all-time greats.
It is very unlikely another Premier League manager will be able to match or surpass Sir Alex Ferguson’s 13 Premier League crowns.
However, Pep Guardiola has been making history of his own by smashing the Premier League points record, becoming the first side to win the domestic treble and, most recently, winning the proper treble.
But when asked who is the best manager, Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand would not give an answer.
In an interview with Kick Game, Ferdinand said: “It’s like [Lionel] Messi and [Cristiano] Ronaldo. Why do we have to choose? “Why is it always that we’ve got to choose? When it’s greatness vs greatness, you’ve just got to respect it. I love them both for different reasons.”
But the former England defender did reserve some praise for Guardiola.
“The new thing’s here and he throws it out, and everyone goes, ‘You’re mad’. But all of a sudden, it works.”
