Manchester United are reportedly close to agreeing a new contract for Bruno Fernandes.
The United captain’s current deal, which he signed in 2022, is set to expire in 2026.
Now multiple sources including the BBC and Sky Sports say the Red Devils captain is poised to agree new terms to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
The new deal is understood to secure a further season until the summer of 2027, with the option for another year.
The Portuguese midfielder joined the Red Devils in January 2020 and has been a key player ever since, racking up 233 appearances, scoring 73 goals and providing 65 assists.
He was named club captain last summer by manager Erik ten Hag and lifted the FA Cup in May, also winning the Carabao Cup in 2022-23.

There had been speculation that the 29-year-old could leave this summer but in May he insisted he wanted to remain with the club.
Fernandes told The Times: “After this difficult season, it is my responsibility to give more. It starts with me.
“I love to step out at Old Trafford more than anything in the world. I don’t want to leave. This has always been my ultimate dream.
“I just want my expectations to fit with the expectations of the club. If you go talk to any fan, they will tell you the same thing.
“We want to compete for the league. We want to be playing Champions League football. We want to be in cup finals. That is the standard. That is what I want. That is what you all deserve.
“I just want to keep fighting. I want to be here. My family wants to be here. “
