Manchester United are ready to part ways with six stars this summer as they look to finance Erik ten Hag’s squad rebuild ahead of what is set to be a busy transfer window.

The Red Devils spent over £250m in Ten Hag’s first summer in charge, and will be looking to spend similar amounts as they target a new goalkeeper, a striker and a central midfielder, while a right-back could also still be on the cards despite the resurgence of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

To do so, it is expected that there will be plenty of departures from Old Trafford, perhaps headed by club captain Harry Maguire, who is reportedly unhappy with his reduced playing time in Manchester.

Manchester United will have to take a hefty loss on the £80m that they shelled out for the England international, but his departure could still raise vital funds to improve other areas of the side.

Meanwhile, Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial are both set to depart too. McTominay has been used often as a substitute this season but is clearly well below the level demanded by Ten Hag, while Martial has seen yet another season disrupted by injury.

So far, the Frenchman has managed just 9 Premier League appearances, and Wout Weghorst has been a vital January addition despite having found the net just once in United colours.

These departures, which will help shave the wage bill down dramatically, could allow United to go big in the transfer market once more this summer.
