Match report
A hard-fought 90 minutes at Old Trafford on Friday evening ultimately culminated in Manchester United getting the better of Everton, to book their spot in the 4th round of the FA Cup.
Fresh off a 4th win on the spin since the return of English football osn the back of the World Cup break, Erik ten Hag’s troops were back in action a short time ago.
And the Red Devils’ efforts to make it seven wins from seven across all competitions could not have gotten off to a much better start.
This came as the evening’s scoring was opened inside the five-minute mark, upon Marcus Rashford’s low delivery from the left being slotted home by the arriving Antony:

Everton, though, were back on level terms just ten minutes later.
After Neal Maupay’s effort somehow made its way through the legs of David de Gea, Conor Coady was on hand to slot home into the empty Red Devils net:

On this occasion, though, the former Wolves stopper’s efforts came to the detriment of his own side.
Yet another moment of brilliance on the part of Marcus Rashford culminated in Coady directing his England teammate’s square ball beyond the helpless Jordan Pickford:

And Rashford was not done there, going on to add some gloss to the scoreline as proceedings rolled into time added on, courtesy of a coolly dispatched spot-kick:

That was an excellent Everton move. Gray really burned us. Lucky to be ruled out.
But once again De Gea holding the post during the post looks odd. He can easily parry that if he takes up a better position. He’s had a really poor game, even by his standards.

This is some run from United. Outstanding job by Ten Hag so far. Squad still looks light, but the right investment this month and who knows? Crying out for reinforcement up front to build on this

Everton played well, gave everything, Gray terrific, Onana and Pickford good, team looked better with a back-three/five. Keep Calvert-Lewin fit. Hope Iwobi OK. #EFC fans outstanding. They sang against the board, not against the players or Lampard. #MUNEVE
