Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes speaks out on top-four race

Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes has been speaking out about the current battle for the top-four in the Premier League.

At present Manchester United are occupying 4th spot in the league. However, their chances of catching Chelsea look to be slim with the Red Devils three points behind having played two more games than the Blues.

Below them, West Ham are only two points behind after the same number of games, whilst Arsenal are also two points off but with three games in hand.

Tottenham can also catch Manchester United if they win their games in hand, suggesting it us unlikely United will remain 4th for too long.

Now, Bruno Fernandes has been ruing Manchester United’s failure to close the gap on Chelsea:

“As I said many times, we dropped points for the third [position], that’s the main point for us, we could be one step closer to them,” Fernandes said when discussing the top-four race.

Manchester City vs Manchester United

In the same interview, Fernandes would also discuss the upcoming Manchester derby:

“It’s one of the games you know what it means to the city and the fans, for the club and ourselves, it’s one of the games you want to win at all costs.”

Manchester United will face off with cross-town rivals Manchester City this coming Sunday.

Manchester City head into the game as favourites, currently sitting top of the Premier League with the best defence and second-best attack.

However, Man City are well aware they cannot drop any points as Liverpool are only three points behind City if they win their game in hand.

Manchester United, meanwhile, have won just two of their last five and, as mentioned above, are very likely to drop out of the Champions League places very soon.
