Arsenal will face Brentford on Saturday. Ahead of the tie, Mikel Arteta has been praising Ben White.

When White first joined the Gunners, there was some that baulked at the defender’s £50m price-tag, especially when Manchester United signed Champions League and World Cup winner Raphael Varane in the same window for less money.

However, it is fair to say that White and Arsenal are having a much more productive season than that star-studded Manchester United team.

And even after Arsenal’s horrific start to the season, which White played little part in (he did not feature in the 2-0 and 5-0 losses at the hands of Chelsea and Manchester City), Arsenal have still conceded seven few goals than United this term.

Now, when discussing Ben White recently, Arteta has claimed that if you were to watch the Englishman train every day, you would be amazed by him:

“I’m telling you, you watch him train every day & you’ll be amazed,” Arteta said.

Arsenal vs Brentford

Arsenal head into the Brentford clash boasting games in hand on most of the sides around them in the Premier League table.

This is in part due to their meeting with Chelsea being postponed last weekend owing to the Blues’ participation in the FIFA Club World Cup.

As a result, Arsenal have slipped down to 6th in the Premier League table with 39 points.

However, should they win two of their three games in hand on West Ham and Manchester United, the Gunners will climb up into that coveted 4th spot.

Mikel Arteta’s men will also face Brentford at a pretty ideal time. The Bees are in poor form, having drawn one and lost four of their last five league outings.
