As Monaco Sporting Director Paul Mitchell has, on Thursday, provided an update on the future of Chelsea star Malang Sarr.
For those who may have missed it, defender Sarr spent this past season out on loan away from Stamford Bridge.
After falling ever further down the pecking order under then-boss Thomas Tuchel owing to the arrivals of both Kalidou Koulibaly and Wesley Fofana, the 24-year-old made the move to France, to link up with the aforementioned Monaco.

Amid a solid-if-unspectacular stint at the Stade Louis II, however, Sarr’s campaign was ultimately derailed by injury early in March.
And this, it would appear, ultimately proved to be the final nail in the coffin when it came to the chances of Monaco activating their purchase option on the stopper.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Paul Mitchell, Sporting Director at the Ligue 1 outfit, was drawn on the future of the club’s current crop of loan additions.
“Malang (Sarr) unfortunately got an injury, a muscular abdominal injury in training a few months ago so he wasn’t available for selection for a long time. Alex will go back to Bayern Munich. Thomas, we’re yet to make a decision on what we’re going to do. Malang has already gone back to Chelsea.”
Malang Sarr (24) has returned to Chelsea, and won’t join Monaco permanently, Sporting Director Paul Mitchell has confirmed. https://t.co/1K9gbXxgdZ
