Croatia headed into the tournament looking for a repeat of their 2018 success when they reached the final.
However, Morocco are a decent side and were expected to prove a stern test for Luka Modric and co.
And when all was said and done, the points were shared.
Morocco had a bright start to the match, with Hakim Ziyech causing the opposition issues early on. But Croatia did counter well throughout the first half and Kramaric threatened several times.
Ivan Perisic then came close with a shot from distance:
Some goal this would have been! 😳

However, neither side was able to carve out a good enough chance to manage a shot on target inside the first half hour.
Noussair Mazraoui then had Morocco’s first shot on goal 53 minutes in, with his header going straight at the Croatian keeper.
From there, the pace of the game slowed down and there were no major chances of note.

Match reaction
Modric hacks down Amrabat from behind, not even a warning from the referee. I suppose when you’re the best midfielder of your generation you have earned a bit of leeway.
