Fenerbahce have released a statement confirming that Jose Mourinho has been cleared of racism following his comments about the Galatasaray bench.
The former Chelsea and Tottenham head coach had come under fire after a loss to his side’s Turkish rivals, claiming that they were ‘jumping around like monkeys during their celebrations.
In the aftermath, Galatasaray announced they would be filing criminal proceedings against the ‘Special One’ and were keen to take him to court.
But Mourinho hit back at the club, counter-sueing them for their claims.
Now, it seems the veteran manager has won his case based on the following statement released by Fenerbahce.
On X, they posted: “Announcement to the Public.
Kamuoyuna Duyuru

“As a result of the criminal complaint filed by Galatasaray Club against our Technical Director Jose Mourinho based on racism, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office decided that no crime had occurred and that there was no need for prosecution.
“In summary; the criminal complaint was concluded with a decision of non-prosecution. We present it to the public.”
It remains to be seen whether Mourinho will press on with his court case against the Turkish giants.
He believes the incident was a blatant attempt to discredit him and could seek damages through the legal system.
Mourinho has yet to get the better of Galatasary on the pitch this season, most recently losing 2-1 in the Turkish Super Cup.
His Fenerbahce side remain six points behind them at the top of the table, although they do have a game in hand.
