Newcastle take on Chelsea for the second time in four days having faced the Blues in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Blues came out victorious but now travel to St James’ Park in what could be a much different affair.

The Magpies will have the support of their fans behind them, while Chelsea will likely rotate.

But both will want to progress to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

Newcastle have made a few changes but have kept a strong core to their team.

Nick Pope remains in goal for the Magpies, with Fabian Schar, Emile Krafth, Lloyd Kelly and Lewis Hall at the back.

Joelinton, Sandro Tonali and Sean Longstaff are in midfield.

With Joe Willock and Anthony Gordon returning to the side as well.

Chelsea line-up

The Blues as expected have heavily rotated for this match.

Filip Jorgensen returns in goal with a defence of Axel Disasi, Tosin Adarabioyo, Beniot Badiashile and Marc Cucurella.

Enzo Fernandez, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Gabriel Veiga make up the midfield.

Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk provide width for the Blues.

And Christopher Nkunku leads the line.
