A trio of one-time members of the midfield ranks at Premier League giants Liverpool have, on Saturday, been officially reunited in Saudi Arabia.
This comes owing to the latest transfer efforts on the part of Pro League outfit Al-Ettifaq.
As most of a Liverpool persuasion will no doubt be aware, in bringing his stellar stint on Merseyside to a close this summer, club captain Jordan Henderson put pen to paper on a lucrative contract with Al-Ettifaq.
This came after the England international was personally targeted by another Reds icon – Steven Gerrard – currently in charge at The Prince Mohammad bin Fahd Stadium.

As alluded to above, though, Gerrard, evidently, was not prepared to rest on his laurels.
After setting his sights on another ex-member of Jurgen Klopp’s ranks at Anfield several weeks ago, this evening, Al-Ettifaq’s boss has at long last secured his latest key target.
As per an official statement across the club’s website and social media platforms:
‘Al-Ettifaq Club management has completed the contract with Dutch football midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum to defend the colors of Fares Al-Dahna for 3 seasons, coming from the French club Paris Saint-Germain’
Wijnaldum is understood to have set Al-Ettifaq back a sum in the region of €8 million.
