A long-time target on the part of Premier League giants Manchester United has been omitted from his club’s matchday squad for the upcoming slate of Serie A fixtures.
The player in question? Sofyan Amrabat.
The name of midfielder Amrabat, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines on the red half of Manchester for some time now.
This comes amid widespread confirmation that the Moroccan World Cup standout has made his way to the top of the wishlist of the powers that be at Old Trafford.
Amid ongoing efforts to reinforce boss Erik ten Hag’s ranks in the middle of the park, Amrabat, it is understood has been identified as the ideal replacement for Fred.
Reports, in turn, have long pointed towards an offer by way of United as being imminent.

With concern mounting that their side’s pursuit may be stalling, all associated with Manchester United will therefore no doubt be encouraged to hear of Fiorentina, on Friday, dropping a hint towards Amrabat’s potential exit.
As revealed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 27-year-old has been left out of Vincenzo Italiano’s squad for the Viola’s Serie A meeting with Lecce on Sunday.
Not only that, but he will also sit out first-team training ‘until his transfer situation gets resolved’.
This comes with Amrabat ‘waiting’ for a move to Old Trafford.
