AC Milan forward Olivier Giroud is calling time on his career in Italy and moving to the MLS this summer, the player has confirmed.
Giroud has been a tireless servant in European football, but feels now is the right time to try something new.

The 37-year-old has had a glittering career, winning the Champions League with Chelsea alongside the FA Cup and Europa League.
Giroud is also a World Cup winner with France and was part of the Milan squad that won the Serie A title in 2022.

He will be departing as a free agent with his contract set to expire in June and the 131-cap international released a statement confirming his exit.
He said: “I will be playing my final two matches with Milan and will continue my career in the MLS.
“I’m very proud of what I’ve achieved at Milan in the last three years. My time with Milan might be finishing this year but the club will remain in my heart.”
Giroud is expected to link up with compatriot Hugo Lloris, who left Tottenham earlier in the year to join Los Angeles FC.
The MLS side will be recruiting France’s all-time leading goalscorer and a seasoned winner.
Despite being in the twilight of his career, the experienced striker has still netted 14 goals in 33 Serie A appearances this season.
