Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has, on Friday, provided an insight into the future of the on-loan Joao Cancelo.
The name of versatile full-back Cancelo, of course, took its place front and centre in the headlines during the January transfer window.
This came upon the powers that be at Premier League champions City springing a major surprise, in allowing the gifted Portuguese to depart on loan.
German heavyweights Bayern Munich, in turn, took full advantage of the situation, bringing Cancelo in for the 2nd-half of the campaign.
After falling out-of-favour in Manchester, however, the 28-year-old has since done likewise in Bavaria, too.
With boss Julian Nagelsmann favouring the full-back pairing of Josip Stanisic and Alphonso Davies, it has even been suggested in the German media that the board at the Allianz Arena have already come to the decision not to make Cancelo’s arrival a permanent one in the summer.

Well, as alluded to above, on Friday, precisely that was put to Manchester City headmaster Pep Guardiola.
Seemingly keen to distance both himself and City from all matters relating to Cancelo, however, Guardiola simply assured that the former Juventus talent is ‘a Bayern Munich player’:
