The nominees for the PFA Young Player of the Year have been announced ahead of the new season.
2023-24 saw several young stars emerge in the Premier League and six have made the shortlist to be crowned as the best.
Chelsea’s Cole Palmer tops the list as favourite to win the award.
After signing from Manchester City last summer, the England international came second in the goalscoring charts only to Erling Haaland, who was not nominated.
Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo provides competition for Palmer.
The Red Devils youngster enjoyed a breakthrough season at Old Trafford, earning himself a spot at Euro 2024 as a regular starter for the Three Lions.

Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise – who has just joined Bayern Munich – earns his spot as a potential Young Player of the Year.
The 22-year-old recorded 16 goal contributions for the Eagles last season before guiding France to the gold medal match in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
20-year-old Alejandro Garnacho joins Manchester United team-mate Mainoo having scored 10 goals across all competitions last term.
He also netted in the recent Community Shield loss to Manchester City, proving he can perform against the world’s best.
Arsenal could not win the Premier League last term, but Bukayo Saka was definitely a standout for the Gunners.
The 22-year-old would be in with a shout for the PFA Player of the Year award but may have to settle as a young star, with plenty of his best years yet to come.
Rounding off the list is Brighton’s Joao Pedro.
The Brazilian scored 20 goals last term and will be battling with the big boys to be crowned as Young Player of the Year.
