Ipswich have signed Burnley’s Kosovan international keeper Aro Muric on a four-year deal.

The 25-year-old – a former Man City academy product – took over between the posts at Turf Moor for the final 10 games of Burnley’s ill-fated Premier League campaign, replacing another former Man City keeper, James Trafford.

The deal is reportedly worth an initial £8m which would rise to £10m based on incentives and in addition to the Clarets, the deal also means a windfall for Man City.

The Sky Blues have already sold Liam Delap to the Tractor Boys this summer and another £20m from Taylor Harwood-Bellis’ switch to Southampton, in addition to getting a sell-on fee from Douglas Luiz’ move from Aston Villa to Juventus.

Swiss-born Muric – who has won 38 caps for Kosovo – had spells away from the Etihad at NAC Breda, Nottingham Forest, Willem II and Adana Demirspor before moving to Burnley in 2022, going on to make 55 appearances in total.

“I’m excited to have joined the club and am looking forward to getting started,” Muric told the club’s media team after becoming boss Kieran McKenna’s fifth summer arrival.

“I watched how the team played last season and feel the style will suit me very well, so this is the perfect move for me.

“I have had good conversations with the manager and Rene (Gilmartin, Head of Goalkeeping) and believe this is the right place for me to be as the club moves into the Premier League.

“I’m looking forward to getting started.”

Ever-present promotion-winning Town keeper Vaclav Hladky left Portman Road last month as he was unable to agree terms on a new deal.

The 33-year-old, who kept 14 clean sheets in the Championship, reportedly turned down a move to Turf Moor in favour of returning to his homeland of the Czech Republic to join Jablonec.

Hladky first joined St Mirren in 2019 before a switch to Salford in August 2020 and then a move to Suffolk 12 months later.
