Sterling joined Chelsea from Manchester City in the summer of 2022.
His first season in west London saw Sterling score nine and assist four in 38 outings across all competitions.
This is far cry from the numbers Sterling put up over several years for Manchester City.
And whilst he has looked good in the few games of 2023/24 so far, Sterling is yet to get off the mark this term.
The Englishman has now explained why he is yet to reach his full potential at Chelsea:
“It was a difficult transition period last year,” Sterling said. “I was raring to go from the off season, looking to get back to the levels I know I can get to, it is as simple as that. It’s about being aggressive. A lot of the time it’s back to goal so it was nice to get on the half turn.
