A head-turning statistic, highlighting the recent efforts of Arsenal star Eddie Nketiah in front of goal, has come to the fore on Thursday.
Hitman Nketiah, as expected, was afforded his latest start this evening.
As the Gunners turned their attentions towards matters on the continent in a Europa League group stage meeting with Norwegian outfit Bodø/Glimt, Mikel Arteta opted to hand a much-needed rest to first-choice hitman Gabriel Jesus, ahead of a packed fixture list in the buildup to next month’s World Cup.
Nketiah, as a result, was chosen to lead the line, and soon rewarded the faith of his boss.
This came as Kieran Tierney’s rifled effort rebounded off the post midway through the first-half of action at the Emirates, with Arsenal’s gifted young attacker on hand to slot home in impressive fashion on the rebound:

Rob Holding has since doubled the hosts’ advantage versus Bodo, but, as alluded to above, it is that man Nketiah who has firmly stolen the headlines on Thursday evening.
As per journalist Sam Dean, all told, Nketiah has racked up 12 goals across his last 15 starts in Arsenal colours:

Ample justification for the efforts of Mikel Arteta and co. to keep hold of their backup striker this past summer…
