An insight into the future of out-of-favour Barcelona defender Sergino Dest has been forthcoming late on Friday evening.
For those not aware, right-back Dest has spent the season to date out on loan, in Italy with recently-dethroned Serie A champions AC Milan.
This comes after the American was deemed surplus to requirements by Barcelona headmaster Xavi Hernandez.
To say that his time at San Siro has since proven a disappointment, though, would be something of an understatement.
Failing to oust either of first-choice full-back pair Davide Calabria or Theo Hernandez from their respective starting berths, Dest has been afforded a paltry two league starts, the most recent of which came en route to a four-goal drubbing at the hands of Lazio all the way back in January.
Widespread confirmation, in turn, has already arrived that the powers that be at Milan have no intention of making the 22-year-old’s arrival permanent.

Well, as alluded to above, on Friday, an insight into precisely that has been forthcoming online.
The info comes courtesy of Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, who have revealed that Barcelona have already lined up a 2nd successive loan for Dest for next season.
The former Ajax man, it is understood, is primed to take his talents to Germany, to line out for high-flying Union Berlin for the duration of the 2023/24 campaign.
❗Sergiño Dest is very close to joining Union Berlin on loan for next season.
