Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has, on Friday, provided an update on the wellbeing of star frontman Karim Benzema.
For those not aware, Benzema set alarm bells ringing across Los Blancos’ fanbase last weekend.
This came upon the Frenchman picking up yet another knock, en route to his side’s disappointing goalless stalemate with Real Betis.
Amid what has proven an injury-plagued campaign to date, fears over a potential spell on the sidelines, in turn, quickly came to the fore.
Benzema, for his part, has since spent the week to date training indoors, away from the rest of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

Speaking to the media on Friday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his talismanic attacker’s fitness was put to Real’s headmaster.
Ancelotti, though, went on to reveal that ‘Benz’ will play no part at The Bernabeu, with youngster Rodrygo instead primed to line out ‘as a centre-forward’.
Concerns surrounding any form of extended stretch out of action, however, were subsequently put to bed, upon confirmation arriving that Benzema will take his place back in Real’s ranks for the 2nd-leg of the club’s Champions League Last-16 showdown with Liverpool:
“He (Benzema) will be available for Wednesday’s game,” Ancelotti went on to conclude.
Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Karim Benzema will be fit to face Liverpool in the #UCL next Wednesday.
