For those who may have missed it, confirmation of midfielder Mount’s imminent Old Trafford switch was finally forthcoming a short time ago.
On the back of weeks of back-and-forth negotiations between the respective boards at United and Chelsea, a compromise was reached on a figure of £55 million, plus bonuses.

The info comes courtesy of the Manchester Evening News, who have first confirmed that Mount is set to pen a five-year contract with his new club, featuring the option for a further year.
With one fresh face primed to add to Erik ten Hag’s midfield ranks at Old Trafford, however, it has since also been confirmed that another is likely to make way over the weeks ahead.
The Brazilian is understood to be attracting interest from Fulham, albeit with it currently unclear whether Fred himself would be open to the prospect of a move to Craven Cottage.
