An update on the fitness of Chelsea star Edouard Mendy has been provided late on Thursday evening.
Shot-stopper Mendy, of course, has not featured for Chelsea since November of last year.
This comes with the Senegalese, after reestablishing himself as first-choice between the posts in west London prior to the World Cup break, having since been forced into an extended spell on the sidelines.
After first picking up a shoulder concern, Mendy later underwent surgery to remedy a finger injury following the turn of the year.
The 31-year-old, whose future at Stamford Bridge remains altogether uncertain owing to a contract impasse, has in turn been forced to surrender no.1 status to Kepa Arrizabalaga once more.

If the latest word stemming from the media on Thursday is anything to go by, however, then Mendy should not have to wait too much longer to kick his battle with Kepa back into gear.
As per a report from the Daily Mail:
‘Edouard Mendy hopes to get the all-clear to resume full training within the next fortnight.’
