Viewers of the Bundesliga meeting between VfL Bochum and Borussia Dortmund have flooded to social media on Friday evening, to reveal their disillusionment with what has since been widely described as ‘robbery’ on the part of the team of officials.

Amid ongoing efforts to knock Bayern Munich off their perennial throne atop the German football pyramid, the aforementioned Dortmund made the trip to Bochum a short time ago.

Edin Terzic’s troops headed into proceedings sitting pretty atop the Bundesliga table, a point clear of champions Bayern.

With the Bavarians set to take on bottom-of-the-table Hertha BSC on Sunday, BVB were therefore aware that nothing but a 2nd victory on the spin would suffice.

When all was said and done at the Vonovia Ruhrstadion, however, the evening’s visitors were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.

This came as a chaotic opening ten minutes proved decisive on the scoreboard, after Karim Adeyemi cancelled out Anthony Losilla’s superb opener.

Instead, this has come in the form of those not afforded to Dortmund, by way of referee Sascha Stegemann, and the VAR crew.

One penalty call in particular, which saw goalscorer Adeyemi taken out inside the hosts’ penalty area, left onlookers baffled, with a late handball claim having also fallen on deaf ears.

In turn, the Dortmund faithful have been joined by neutrals alike, in slamming all in charge of overseeing tonight’s action, on an evening which could prove decisive in costing Dortmund a long-awaited league title:
