Poland talisman Robert Lewandowski etched his name ever further into the history books of international football on Saturday evening.
‘Lewa’, of course, was back in action a short time ago.
Eyeing a first win of the country’s World Cup campaign after being held by Mexico on opening day, the Barcelona hitman guided his side into a crunch showdown with giant killers Saudi Arabia.
And, when all was said and done, Lewandowski, predictably, proved the catalyst for an eventual Poland triumph.
First, late in the first-half, the veteran striker teed up Napoli standout Piotr Zielinski to open the scoring at the Education City Stadium.
Then, just inside the closing ten minutes, Lewandowski killed the clash off once and for all, adding his own name to the scoresheet after pouncing on a mistake in the Saudi backline.

In addition, it proved altogether noteworthy on an individual basis.
First off, Lewandowski’s late strike, surprisingly, came as his first-ever at the World Cup.
Not only that, but it too guided the ex-Bayern Munich star onto the list of the top-10 international goalscorers of all-time:
