An early insight into the wellbeing of Tottenham Hotspur star Rodrigo Bentancur has been provided late on Saturday evening.
For those not aware, this comes after the Uruguayan was forced into a premature departure from the club’s latest outing.
Bentancur’s afternoon actually began in stellar fashion on Saturday, as the all-action midfielder opened the scoring in Spurs’ Premier League meeting with Leicester City.
However, amid a complete and utter collapse on the part of Antonio Conte’s troops – en route to an eventual 4-1 defeat, ‘Benta’ set alarm bells ringing, in pulling up with a knee problem.
After being seen to by the visitors’ medical staff, it was subsequently decided that the former Juventus star was in no condition to continue, culminating in his exit from the action for Pape Matar Sarr.

Speaking to the media ahead of the club’s trip to Italy to face AC Milan in midweek, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of Bentancur’s fitness was put to Tottenham assistant manager Cristian Stellini post-match.
“He feels pain at the moment. We know only this but he can walk so it’s important to feel he came back to the bench with his leg [injury], we hope we can check in a few days.”
