Arsenal’s title charge has taken a big hit over the last two weekends.
The Gunners drew 2-2 with Liverpool after going 2-0 up. They then did the same vs West Ham this past weekend in a major blow to their hopes of securing their first Premier League title since 2004.
This will see Manchester City move to within a point of the north Londoners, if they win their game in hand.
And as Manchester City are in top form and have to play Arsenal next week, Pep Guardiola’s side have a great chance of going top of the table.
So, having William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko back – both of whom missed the West Ham draw -would be a big boost.
On Wednesday, the Evening Standard have provided an update on the duo.
Arteta said: “He had a musclular issue at the end of the match at Anfield last week, he struggled in the last few minutes. We assessed him, he wasn’t fit enough to play.”
As for William Saliba, Arsenal are hoping to see the Frenchman back in training soon after suffering a back injury against Sporting CP a month ago but the trip to Manchester City looks like it will come too soon for the centre-back, with the final games of the season his current target.
