Team News

Scotland boss Steve Clarke has made one change to the side that drew 1-1 with Switzerland – Scott McKenna coming in for the injured Kieran Tierney. McKenna replaced Tierney after 61 minutes in Cologne and performed well, although he did pick up a yellow card.

Che Adams gets the nod to continue in attack with Lawrence Shankland again among the substitutes.

The big news for Hungary is that captain Dominik Szoboszlai is fit after an injury scare. Callum Styles, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Sunderland, starts in midfield with Endre Botka coming into the defence. Attila Fiola and Adam Nagy drop to the bench.

The State of the Group

The equation is pretty simple for both teams: win or go home! For third-placed Scotland, their chance of progression is almost certain with three points following their hard-earned draw with Switzerland last time out. Not only did it get them on the board but it also partially erased the memories of their opening-night 5-1 thrashing by hosts Germany.

Hungary have lost both of their games so far but a convincing win against the Scots may be enough for them to squeeze through as one of the four-best third-place finishers.

Boss Marco Rossi said: “It’s a match which for us, like for Scotland, has the same final target. We are confident that if we win, we will go through. For us, it is the same match as it will be for Scotland. We will give it everything we have on the pitch.”
