Segundo Castillo stole the show last night, even though his Barcelona SC team sparkled on the pitch.
Castillo is boss of the Ecuadorian club and has gained a reputation for his smart attire on the touchline but he stepped it up a notch against Corinthians, sporting a magnificent white tuxedo jacket and waistcoat and black trousers.
He proved he wasn’t all style and no substance either as his side cruised past the Brazilian giants 3-0 in Guayaquil in their Copa Libertadores third round, first leg tie.
The visitors, for whom Memphis Depay started up front, were blown away thanks to two goals from Janner Corozo either side of an Octavio Rivero strike.
Asked about his fashion sense after the game, Castillo, known as ‘El Mortero’, said: “I feel that I must be up to the level of my players and the club where I am. Nothing more than that.”
