Match report
A pulsating affair at the Hillsborough Stadium on Saturday evening ultimately culminated in another classic FA Cup shock, as high-flying Newcastle United were sent packing from the competition at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday.
The hosts’ Josh Windass proved the undisputed star of the show, notching both of his side’s goals en route to a 2-1 triumph.
The first came about early in the 2nd-half, when Dennis Adeniran’s delivery across the face of goal was slotted home by Wednesday’s in-form frontman:

And Windass showcased his poise once more fifteen minutes later, in driving a fine finish beyond the clutches of Martin Dubravka:

Newcastle, to their credit, did go on to pull one back a short time later, courtesy of an offside Bruno Guimaraes.
But, in the end, the Brazilian’s strike proved little more than a consolation, as Newcastle’s FA Cup dreams came crashing down at the first hurdle.

I see Newcastle are wearing their third kit, which has absolutely nothing to do with the colours of Saudi Arabia. Nope. Not at all. Pure coincidence. pic.twitter.com/ikXfl93tGG
