Burnley’s return to the top-flight of English football, on Friday, has seen a loan addition to the club’s frontline made permanent.
The Clarets’ promotion, of course, was finally made official a short time ago.
This came as a trip to the Riverside Stadium to take on Middlesbrough saw goals on the part of Ashley Barnes and Connor Roberts prove decisive, en route to an eventual 2-1 triumph.
Vincent Kompany’s troops, in turn, opened up an insurmountable 19-point advantage over 3rd-placed Luton Town, confirming their Premier League status for the 2023/2024 campaign.

And, as alluded to above, in the process, Burnley made the arrival of an on-loan member of Kompany’s ranks at Turf Moor permanent for the seasons to come.
The player in question? Michael Obafemi.
‘Following Burnley’s promotion back into the Premier League, Obafemi is now guaranteed to become a Clarets player on a permanent basis in the summer, meaning his Swans career is officially over.’
Republic of Ireland international Obafemi made the move to Lancashire during the January transfer window, going on to notch two goals and an assist across eight substitute appearances.
