Argentine icon Lionel Messi has received a big-money contract renewal from current employers Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports.
The name of seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi, of course, has taken its place centre stage in the headlines over the course of the season to date.
This comes with the 35-year-old, on the back of an altogether underwhelming debut campaign in France, having looked close to his scintillating best once more.
All told, across 13 combined appearances on the club and international front, Messi has directly contributed to a head-turning 18 goals.

In turn, it should not come as a major surprise to hear of the powers that be at PSG already working towards tying the club’s creator in chief down to fresh terms.
As things stand, Messi’s contract at the Parc des Princes is due to expire in the summer of 2023.
The deal in question comes in the form of a 1-year extension, featuring the option for a further year, too.
The financial terms, meanwhile, fall in line with Messi’s current contract, to the tune of an eye-watering €30 million-per-season.
❗️Lionel Messi has already received a renewal offer from PSG. The offer is 1 year + 1 year optional. The economic conditions are practically the same as the current ones, €30m per year.
