Tottenham will use any money from the sale of Harry Kane to fund moves for three new players this summer should their talisman depart before the new season, it has been reported.

The Englishman has dominated Tottenham’s transfer planning this summer, with just one year left on his contract and with strong interest from Bayern Munich.

The German champions have held long talks with Daniel Levy over a potential move, but have only managed to offer 95m euros (£82m). Kane himself is keen to make a decision before the opening day of the season, where his current side face a trip to Brentford, and would stay should a deal not be agreed before that.

Should he be sold, Tottenham have already planned how they will spend the incoming funds.

Firstly, they will head to the Camp Nou in a bid to land Clement Lenglet on a permanent deal, after the Frenchman spent last season on loan. It is believed that Xavi’s side would demand around £10m to let the defender leave.

Though he did endure a mixed season in north London last season, Lenglet would offer a priceless left-footed option for Ange Postecoglu’s defence.

With Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg strongly linked with a move to Atletico Madrid, further reinforcements are needed and Kessie could be available on the cheap given Barcelona’s financial issues.

Finally, they would look to bolster their attack with a move for Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson, who enjoyed a strong first Premier League campaign.

It is believed that a bid in the region of £50m would be required to land the Welshman though, with bids from Brentford having already been rejected and Forest keen to keep their young talent.
