Incoming Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is set to demand a tray of lemons for his Blues office after a friend suggested that they would help him with positive energy, the Telegraph have revealed.

The Argentine is expected to take charge of the Blues at the end of the season, as he looks to turn around a miserable 12 months under Todd Boehly which most recently saw them draw 2-2 with Nottingham Forest.

And though Chelsea’s problems may very much be on the pitch, Pochettino will be looking for spiritual improvement around Stamford Bridge to begin his overhaul in west London.

Speaking in his book, Brave New World, the soon-to-be Blues boss revealed that “I need data and tests, but what most influences my decisions is my ability to see if the right energy is flowing. I can foresee things that are going to happen and the associated consequences, or which path each player is going to take. I can see it in their auras.”

To help create the right energy, the Telegraph claim that ‘Mauricio Pochettino likes to keep a tray of lemons in his office, after an Argentine friend told him they absorb negative energy’, something that he will have to find space for in his new home.

Another thing that Chelsea players have to look forward to is a running drill known as the Gacon test, which is set to test the stamina of even the fittest players in the Blues squad.

With plenty of change in the dressing rooms likely to occur this summer, it also seems as though Pochettino could instil major changes elsewhere too upon his arrival at the end of the season.
