Updates on the wellbeing of a pair of Chelsea stars have been forthcoming, on the back of the club’s meeting with Tottenham Hotspur.
The Blues, of course, were back in action on Sunday afternoon.
In the solitary fixture of the day in England’s top-flight, Graham Potter’s troops made the trip across London, for a derby showdown with the aforementioned Tottenham.
Chelsea headed into proceedings desperate for a bounce-back result, fresh off back-to-back defeats at the hands of Borussia Dortmund and Southampton.
When all was said and done, however, the woes of the Blues only continued to mount.
This came as goals on the part of Oliver Skipp and Harry Kane guided hosts Spurs to the right side of an eventual 2-0 result.

In addition, Chelsea saw veteran defender Thiago Silva – one of few bright sparks across what has proven a nightmare campaign to date – limp out of the action with a first-half knee injury.
Speaking post-match, Graham Potter, in turn, was asked for the latest on the wellbeing of his defensive stalwart.
And Chelsea’s boss went on to explain:
“I’m not sure. Hopefully it’s not too serious but I haven’t spoken to the doctor enough to have a diagnosis for you.”
Drawn on the absence of Mateo Kovacic in north London, meanwhile, Potter revealed that the Croatian international is suffering with a bout of illness.
