Chelsea star Thiago Silva has taken to social media on Saturday night, to provide his response to calls for him to be dropped to the bench by boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Chelsea, and Silva, were of course back in action earlier today.

Amid an underwhelming start to the campaign, the Blues welcomed Nottingham Forest to Stamford Bridge, desperate to make it back-to-back victories.

When all was said and done, however, another hugely disappointing display ultimately culminated in Pochettino’s troops being put to the sword.

A solitary goal on the part of summer addition Anthony Elanga proved enough to guide Forest to the right side of a 1-0 result.

On the back of another concerning day’s work for their side, it should, in turn, come as little surprise to hear of the Chelsea faithful making their frustrations very much known.

One such target comes in the form of Thiago Silva, whom some, evidently, have come to the conclusion is central to the early season woes being endured in west London.

After as much was stated by one fan on Instagram this evening, however, the Brazilian moved to defend himself.

The supporter in question pushed the point that Silva has been ‘shoehorned’ into Chelsea’s backline, calling for him to be left out moving forward, in turn opening the door for a move away from a back-five.

In response, however, the veteran stopper called for a ‘closer look’ at the club’s formation, confirming that he and his teammates are in fact already lining out in a back-four.

From here, Silva also reiterated, though, that he is more than happy to take ‘responsibility for the defeat’.
