Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has joined Marseille on loan with an obligation to make the move permanent for a reported fee of £13m.
The 28-year-old Denmark star was entering the final year of his contract with the North London side but was keen on a move in order to secure regular first team football.
We have reached agreement with Olympique de Marseille for the loan of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for the 2024/25 season, with an obligation that would see the move become permanent.
Wishing you all the best, Pierre! 🤍

He will link-up with former Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi while ex-Man United and England striker Mason Greenwood joined L’Om last week.
Hojbjerg made 39 appearances for Ange Postecoglou’s side last season but 29 of those came off the bench as the Australian employed a system which saw him prefer Pape Sarr and Yves Bissouma in central midfield.
The Dame moved to Spurs from Southampton in August 2020 in a deal which involved Kyle Walker-Peters and around £5m going the other way.
He featured in 143 of the 152 Premier League matches Tottenham played in his four seasons at the club, making 184 appearances in all competitions.
He will be remembered by Spurs fans for a last-gasp winner for Tottenham against the side he is joining in the Stade Velodrome which secured top spot in their Champions League group in November 2022.
Of his 81 Denmark caps, 48 have come since joining Tottenham, helping his country to the semi-final of Euro 2020 and captaining the side for the first time in March, scoring on the night against the Faroe Islands.
A statement on the Spurs website said: “We have reached agreement with Olympique de Marseille for the loan of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for the 2024/25 season, with an obligation that would see the move become permanent.
“We wish Pierre all the best for the future.”
