Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur are close to sealing a deal for a highly-regarded up-and-coming defender, according to reports.
The player in question? Luka Vusković.
For those not familiar with his name, Vusković is a 16-year-old central defender, who has long been making waves in his home country of Croatia.
A product of the academy setup at hometown club Hajduk Split, he first began to pique attentions in becoming the youngest Croatian to ever feature, and in turn score, in the UEFA Youth League.
This was followed earlier this year by the stopper then making history once more, in being afforded his professional bow at just 16 years and two days old, completing all 90 minutes of a highly-anticipated league derby showdown with Dinamo Zagreb.
With Vusković having since gone from strength to strength to establish himself as a regular for Hajduk at senior level, clubs from across the continent have unsurprisingly begun to express a keen interest in his services.
As alluded to above, though, this weekend, it is the latter who have managed to beat out the competition, to strike a deal for the defensive sensation.
As per a report from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano:
‘Tottenham are on the verge of signing Croatian CB top talent Luka Vusković!’
The personal terms of a contract have already been agreed upon between the parties, with Spurs and Hajduk now finalising the necessary paperwork, after Vusković himself opted for a move to north London.

Though an exciting piece of business for all associated with Spurs, the Lilywhites faithful will have to wait before seeing Vusković in the club’s colours, with the Croatian youth international set to continue his development in Split for the next two years, before finally making his way to England’s capital in the summer of 2025.
