Word stemming from the media on Thursday points towards a potential reunion between a long-time member of the defensive ranks at Tottenham Hotspur, and ex-boss Jose Mourinho.
The player at the heart of the day’s rumours? Eric Dier.
Stopper Dier, for those not aware, has endured an altogether underwhelming campaign to date.
Owing to a combination of fitness woes, and competition for places, the 29-year-old has fallen out-of-favour under the watch of new Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou.
In fact, Dier is yet to take to the pitch thus far in 2023/24.
Ahead of the transfer window swinging back open in the new year, it has, in turn, come as little surprise to see the 49-time capped England international being tipped for a move away from north London.
As per a report from Italian outlet Calciomercato, Serie A giants AS Roma are giving serious consideration to a January swoop for Dier.
The Giallorossi’s proposal would be expected to come in the form of an initial loan.
Any such move would see the Tottenham man reunited with Jose Mourinho, after the pair spent two years together in north London between 2019 and 2021.
