A massively frustrating 2022-23 Premier League season is mercifully coming to an end for big six outfit Tottenham as caretaker boss and former Spurs midfielder Ryan Mason leads the club out for the last time before a much-needed summer break that is filled with far more questions than answers.
Between who Spurs’ next manager will be, whether or not Harry Kane will remain in the English capital, and yet another rebuild of the squad, there is much work to be done in north London for a side that is about to finish outside of the European places.
Leeds United awaits Spurs at Elland Road, and for a side whose future in the English top flight is very much on the line, it could be a tricky clash to negotiate. Mason will have to do so without the services of Rodrigo Bentancur, Hugo Lloris, Ryan Sessegnon, and Eric Dier, while key center-back Cristian Romero and central-midfield fulcrum Pierre-Emile Højbjerg are both doubts for selection. Both missed the loss against Brentford and are, at the time of writing, not expected to feature in the XI.
