Aston Villa re-signed English winger Jaden Philogene from Hull City.
Philogene, who joined the Tigers for £5million last summer, has returned to Villa Park after an eye-catching campaign in the Championship.
A clause existed in the 22-year-old’s contract which allowed Villa to match any bids that came in, with both Ipswich and Everton agreeing £18m deals.
After they exercised that clause, Philogene opeted to return to the Midlands to work under Unai Emery, signing a five-year deal.

The England Under-21 international had reportedly even been on Barcelona’s radar after 12 goals and six assists in 32 second-tier appearances.
Philogene made his first-team debut for the Villans against Tottenham in May 2021 and has made six appearances in total.
He also spent time on loan at Stoke and Cardiff before his fruitful spell with Hull.
The youngster is Villa’s sixth signing of the summer after Ross Barkley, Samuel Iling-Junior, Enzo Barrenechea, Ian Maatsen and Lewis Dobbin.
They have reportedly tied up a deal to sign Amadou Onana from Everton for £50m, while Douglas Luiz and Philippe Coutinho have departed.
