Club Brugge winger Antonio Nusa says he was offered ‘a lot of money’ to join Chelsea this summer.
A late move, believed to be worth £23m, was made to sign the 18-year-old last week but the Belgian outfit turned it down.
The player himself has now spoken out about the transfer not coming to pass.
Speaking to TV2, Nusa said: “I’m in a situation where I want the next step, when it happens, to be something I’ve really thought through. I want to find what is right for me. It is important to me. I think about what is best for me.
“It is a lot of money. Much money. But I try not to think about it too much. I can’t focus on it, like. I don’t think it’s good for me.”
Nusa is only 18 years of age but has already made 46 appearances for Brugge’s senior side.
He also made his senior debut for Norway on Thursday, scoring one and assisting one in a 6-0 win over Jordan.
