The agent of Chelsea star Marc Cucurella has, on Saturday, responded to suggestions that his client could be primed for a summer move back to Spain.
Left-back Cucurella, of course, only made the move to Stamford Bridge last summer.
Fresh off a stellar debut campaign with Brighton & Hove Albion, the powers that be at Chelsea agreed to fork over a hefty £60 million to bring the Spaniard to west London.
To say that Cucurella failed to reach the heights of his form in Brighton colours across his first season in Chelsea blue, though, would be something of an understatement.
All told, the 24-year-old managed starts in just 21 of his new club’s 38 Premier League outings.
And even when afforded the chance to do so, Cucurella often struggled, routinely singled out as a scapegoat by the dismayed Chelsea faithful.

Recent days, meanwhile, have seen Spanish giants Atletico Madrid hotly tipped as a potential landing spot for Cucurella.
Diego Simeone’s side are already on the verge of tying up one deal for a Chelsea defender – Cesar Azpilicueta – with the capital giants also understood to boast an interest in his Blues teammate.
Late on Saturday, however, claims surrounding Cucurella’s potential arrival at the Wanda Metropolitano have been categorically denied.
As per Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Alvaro Dominguez, the defender’s representative, has confirmed that a summer move to Atletico is not on the cards for his client.
