A fresh update on Liverpool’s ongoing pursuit of Brighton & Hove Albion star Alexis Mac Allister has come to the fore late on Saturday.
And the news will come as a boost for all of a Reds persuasion hopeful of the Argentine landing at Anfield.
The name of engine room standout Mac Allister has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines on the red half of Merseyside across the last couple of weeks.
This comes amid long-standing suggestions that the Argentine has been earmarked as a leading summer target on the part of the powers that be at Liverpool.
Amid plans to overhaul the club’s ailing midfield, Mac Allister – fresh off playing a starring role for Argentina en route to World Cup glory – is viewed as both a viable and potentially game-changing addition.

And, if the latest word stemming from the media on Saturday night is anything to go by, then such a transfer may not only be close, but imminent.
‘Liverpool are ready to end the race for World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister with a £70 million deal.’
Negotiations between the two parties are understood to be ‘way down the line’, over the terms of a summer transfer.
Despite rival interest on the part of both Arsenal and Manchester United, Mac Allister is therefore ‘ready to commit his future to Liverpool’ over the weeks ahead.
