A report from the Mirror earlier this week claimed that Arsenal have added Leicester City attacking midfielder James Maddison to their list of options in the transfer market this summer.
The England international is said to be on the Gunners’ radar, though the club’s priority remains a move for West Ham’s Declan Rice.
Now, a potential price-tag for the midfielder has been revealed. According to The Telegraph, Leicester are expected to demand around £50m for the midfielder. But, the CIES Football Observatory have priced Maddison at £26m.
Given Leicester could still be relegated on the final day of the season, £50m may end up being an unrealistic target for the Foxes.
Maddison is obviously a quality player but if Leicester go down, Maddison will be eager to leave and clubs shouldn’t really be paying £50m for a player in the Championship.
The £26m valuation by CIESFO seems more reasonable if Leicester go down, but Arsenal will have to wait and see what happens on the final day of the campaign.
