Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing the Villarreal winger, Samuel Chukwueze.
The 23-year-old joined Villareal’s academy in 2017 and has gone on to make 207 appearances for the Spanish outfit’s senior side.
He played 50 games this past season, scoring 13 and assisting 11 in all competitions.
Chukwueze fits the profile of the type of winger Liverpool normally target and as he is natural to the right-flank, Liverpool will finally have cover and potentially a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Similarly, Arsenal are in need of cover on their right wing for Bukayo Saka, as whilst Reiss Nelson looks set to sign a new contract, he has not shown he is good enough to cover for Saka on a consistent basis.
Now, a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes claims that the player will cost around €50m this summer and it remains to be seen whether the Gunners are prepared to shell out that kind of money for him. Arsenal will face competition from Newcastle and Liverpool as well.
