The player in question is Auston Trusty, whom Arsenal signed from Colorado Rapids in January of 2022 for just over £1m.
He was then loaned back to the MLS side for the second half of the 2021/22 campaign before linking up with Arsenal last summer.
However, Trusty did not get a chance to prove himself in the Arsenal team and was shipped off on loan to Birmingham City in the Championship.
Trusty played 48 games for Birmingham and was voted their Player of the Season. He has once again returned to north London and is heading back to America for the Gunners’ pre-season tour.
However, it does look as though he will be sold in the summer window, meaning he is unlikely to ever play a game for Arsenal.
Journalist Kaya Kaynak said: “Auston Trusty is someone who is attracting lots of interest from teams in the Championship.
