The player in question is Jorginho, who Arsenal signed from London rivals Chelsea in January.
The Italian went on to become a regular feature in Arsenal’s XI in the second half of the campaign, replacing Thomas Partey in the DM role.
However, Jorginho was then linked with a move away. In June, it was reported that Arsenal are willing to sell Jorginho in the summer transfer window, with Serie A clubs Lazio, Napoli and AC Milan all interested.
This was followed by Jorginho’s agent squashing those rumours and seemingly confirming his client’s commitment to Arsenal:
“It’s not about the interest of Lazio or their budget,” his agent said. “I can confirm that Jorginho is very happy at Arsenal. In our plans, it’s only Arsenal for next season. No negotiations with Lazio.”
Now though, according to Turkish outlet TRT Spor, Fenerbahce have emerged as candidates to sign Jorginho and the midfielder has informed Arsenal that he wants to leave the Emirates.
