The player in question is Joshua Kimmich of Bayern Munich.
According to a report from Spanish outlet Marca, Barcelona will not be the only high-profile club pursuing Joshua Kimmich in the summer transfer window as the midfielder is also a target for Arsenal and Liverpool.
It is added that the Bundesliga champions want at least €60 million to part ways with their prized asset.
Kimmich’s long-term future at the Bundesliga club is said to be uncertain, which is a major blow for Bayer Munich and Thomas Tuchel.
Kimmich started out at Bayern primarily as a right-back, but he has transformed into arguably the best defensive midfielder in Europe.
His ability to thread a through ball is second to none in his position, which goes some way to explaining why he has 94 assists in 345 games for Bayern.
And whilst not covered in the report from Marca, Barcelona’s financial woes may give Arsenal an edge in the race.
