According to Spanish outlet Sport, Arsenal are monitoring Barcelona wonderkid, Aleix Garrido.
The report claims the Gunners are one of several clubs following the midfielder’s situation at the Camp Nou should he become available.
Garrido is one the hottest talents in Barca’s academy at the age of 19. He made his senior debut for the La Liga champions in April, coming off the bench in the 4-0 away win over Elche.
Before that, he has impressed at a youth level for Barcelona and earned himself a new contract back in April, which will keep him at the club until 2025.
It is reported his new deal includes an astonishing €400m (£340m) release clause.
However, as he is 19 and the likes of Pedri, Gavi and Frenkie de Jong are ahead of him in the Barcelona pecking order, there remains a chance he could leave Barca this summer.
“We would’ve called up Aleix earlier but he was dealing with an ankle injury,” he told Diario Sport.
“Aleix is talented and can make the final pass, perhaps what we’ve been missing the most in Pedri’s absence.”
