Saka, 21, was one of Arsenal’s best players across the 2021/22 campaign and, whilst the Champions League escaped them, the Gunners did secure a 5th-placed Premier League finish at the very least – a huge improvement on their 8th-placed finishes in the previous two campaigns.
Saka, for his part, was instrumental to that, scoring 11 and assisting six in the league whilst also forming a great understanding with Martin Odegaard at the heart of the Gunners’ attack.
He has since continued his superb form into the current season, netting four and assisting six in 14 league ties.
But, given his age, talent and the fact that he plays for an Arsenal side no longer at the top of the English game, the north Londoners may have had a hard time keeping hold of their young prodigy.
Saka is under contract at the Emirates until 2024, with the Gunners understood to be working on a new deal for the winger.
And, according to Football Insider, Arsenal have told their commercial partners already that they expect a full agreement to be secured soon as Saka is a valuable asset for them also.
